After a few years of having our annual tappers’ party within KL, this year it was time for an overnight retreat!

Due to the “configuration” of the classes/students, I thought this was the PERFECT year to do an overnighter party. While it took a bit more of planning & coordination, it was more than worth it! We continued our tour of the “Sekepings” by heading out to the original: Sekeping Serendah. It’s a really nice concept ala “camping” (not really) in the jungle for urbanites!
We organised a carpool for travel, met up in the late morning on Sat, Dec 18 and stopped by the Sg. Buloh R&R for a quick lunch before continuing on to Serendah. As usual the FOOD was priority and took some planning. I mean, what kind of tap party would it be without a key focus being the FOOD?

Mud House - comes with model Cherry!
Timber House B - a "private villa" on the other side of the resort
This time we were really off in a different land. Nestled pretty much in the jungle, it was really back to nature (but without having to stress about basic comforts/necessities) and refreshing.
If was a seriously nice change from our standard lives – made all the more different by having no mobile reception!
As Serendah is literallly ”made for BBQ” with a pit to each camp unit, we went with the flow and prepared a huge, mega BBQ fe(a)st! We had the standard (but yummy and healthy) mega-salad, grilled veggies, sausages, fresh salmon cooked 2 ways (for dinner and for bfast!)…and a whole lotta chicken & lamb! Of course there was dessert, fruit, snacks, drinks etc.
Grilled salmon being prepared- yuuummmm

The BBQ of course went on til all the raw food was cooked. The highlight of the party was definitely the super-creative Charades session. Perhaps it was the mood and ambience but everyone pretty much ROCKED esp. with the short, 10s, famous people rounds towards the end!
Verons & Swee Ha posing while others await the next round of BBQ!
The next day after a rather rushed breakfast & clean-up we checked out. About 2/3 of us headed off to a nearby waterfall for some exploration, trekking and dipping – fun too!
Tue, Level 2 class
What a great trip! That’s pretty much sums it up. Let’s see what 2011’s party will be like
